Pelzer is a small Upstate South Carolina town in Anderson County along the Saluda River. The community developed in the 1880s around the Pelzer Manufacturing Company, and much of its local history is tied to the textile mills and the mill village that grew around them.

The historic Pelzer Gym continues to serve as a community facility for town meetings, recreation, classes, markets, and public events. The gym includes an indoor basketball court and is also used for exercise and wellness programs.
Monkey Park
Monkey Park remains one of Pelzer’s public recreation and gathering spaces, while the Bill Hopkins Sports Complex provides areas used for community sports and recreation.
Community
Pelzer also hosts community markets, seasonal gatherings, and other local events throughout the year. The Pelzer and West Pelzer communities have also continued the long-running Two-Mile Yard Sale along the Main Street corridor.
